How to Choose the Right Printer
ID card printers come in two types. Direct-to-card printers are affordable and work well for most offices. Retransfer printers cost more but produce edge-to-edge printing for government IDs and smart cards.

Do I need a single-sided or dual-sided printer?
If you only need a photo and name on the front, single-sided is fine. If you want a barcode, QR code or additional info on the back, go dual-sided. Most businesses in Oman choose dual-sided.
What is the difference between direct-to-card and retransfer?
Direct-to-card prints directly onto the PVC surface — faster and cheaper but leaves a small white border. Retransfer prints onto a film first, then fuses it to the card — edge-to-edge printing, better for smart cards and proximity cards.
How much does a ribbon print?
A standard YMCKO ribbon prints 250 or 500 cards depending on the model. We can help you estimate your annual supply cost based on your volume.
Can you set up the printer and software for us?
