We provide the original Suprema, ZKTeco, Virdi, Hikvision and HID terminals, warranty and firmware support. Face recognition, fingerprint, card and PIN and specialist palm vein or iris devices are the major choices. The best option is determined by your workplace environment.
Face recognition is recommended for most businesses in Oman. Fingerprint readers may misread hands that are dusty, oily, wet and/or rough. This is a common occurrence in factories, construction sites, kitchens and hospitality roles. Face terminals do not have that problem and generally can confirm the individual's identity quite quickly, especially in situations where multiple employees arrive at the same time.
| Terminal | Brand | Modes | Price (OMR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| SpeedFace-V5L | ZKTeco | Face + Fingerprint + Card + PIN | 120-180 |
| DS-K1T341CMFW | Hikvision | Face + Fingerprint + Card + Wi-Fi | 150-220 |
| FaceStation F2 | Suprema | Face + Fingerprint + Card + Mobile credential | 350-500 |
| UBio-X Pro 2 | Virdi | Face + Fingerprint + Card | 300-450 |
| F18 | ZKTeco | Fingerprint + PIN | 60-80 |
| BioLite N2 | Suprema | Fingerprint + Card + Mobile credential, IP67 outdoor | 200-280 |
After 10 years of installations across Oman, we see the same patterns again and again. The ZKTeco SpeedFace-V5L is the secure and safe option for most small and medium-sized businesses. It is used for both face and fingerprint as well as card and PIN in a terminal and typically is connected with a payment of 120-180 OMR and meets most normal office, clinic, retail, and school needs.
The attendance terminal is primarily used to record the time staff members log in and out. These records are then translated into attendance records, overtime calculations and payroll-ready output, which the software functions perform.
There are basic free software available in most of the brands that could be used for simple attendance tracking. However, free plans may lack some of the shift rules, reporting requirements and payroll options that are important for many companies in Oman.
Some common brand software includes Suprema BioStar 2, ZKTeco BioTime, Virdi ALPETA and Hikvision iVMS-4200. While paid licences tend to be more expensive, they also offer more advanced features like better shift rules, support for more devices, web access, mobile self-service, API integration and more comprehensive reporting.
We built our software because many Oman companies needed things the brand software did not handle well: Ramadan schedules, night shifts crossing midnight, multiple overtime rates, WPS payroll export and mixed-brand device dashboards.
It supports ZKTeco, Suprema and Virdi devices, staff self-service, leave requests, custom reports, Arabic and English interfaces, encrypted templates, audit trails and integrations with Odoo, ERPNext, SAP, Focus Softnet, Oracle and Tally.
Choose cloud if you have multiple branches, remote sites or no IT team to maintain a server. Choose on-premise if your company policy says attendance data must stay inside your own network, which is common in government, banking and oil and gas.
Terminals store punches locally during internet outages and sync when the connection returns, so punches are not lost during an outage.
Under Royal Decree No. 53/2023, normal working hours are 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. During Ramadan, Muslim employees work a maximum of 6 hours per day and 30 hours per week.
The software must calculate 1.25x daytime overtime, 1.5x night work between 9 PM and 5 AM, and 2x weekly rest days and public holidays. You can check overtime manually using our free Oman overtime calculator.
Oman's Personal Data Protection Law, Royal Decree No. 6/2022, became fully enforceable on 5 February 2026. Fingerprints and face templates are sensitive personal data, and biometric processing needs a permit from MTCIT before employee enrolment.
Employees should give clear consent, and when an employee leaves, the biometric template should be deleted from the terminal and server, not only deactivated. We provide a biometric data checklist and configure technical controls during installation.
We start with a site survey. We check entrances, power, network, number of employees per shift and the locations where terminals should be installed. After that, you receive a written proposal within 5 working days.
Installation normally takes 1 to 2 days per site, including mounting, cabling, power, network and software setup. A single site under 100 employees usually goes live in 1 to 2 weeks. A multi-site project with payroll integration usually takes 3 to 6 weeks.
Attendance data should reach payroll without someone retyping numbers at the end of the month. We integrate with platforms commonly used in Oman, including Odoo, ERPNext, SAP, Focus Softnet, Oracle and Tally.
Every terminal we supply includes a built-in access control relay. The same device can record attendance and open a door. If you were also planning an access control system, you may not need a separate device for that door.
The two most common problems for attendance terminals in Oman are dust and heat. Fingerprint sensors need regular cleaning, face terminals need lens cleaning, and devices near sun-exposed entrances need shade or a better mounting position.
Firmware updates are included in our Annual Maintenance Contract. Updates improve recognition, fix bugs and patch security issues.
A multi-branch employer in Oman had a set-up with separate systems for access control and attendance. HR was getting too many attendance correction emails for late punches/absences and missing punches/explanations.
Installed a centrally managed biometric system throughout branches. All the terminals were operated for both access control and attendance with the same enrolment. Employees had access to their own information and could request exceptions and upload paperwork on a staff self-service portal.
The outcome was a single access and attendance system for all branches, approval process for access and attendance exceptions, documents attached to every attendance and over 80% reduction in correction emails to HR.
Plan a multi-branch attendance systemBasic fingerprint terminals start from around 60 OMR, while enterprise face recognition terminals can reach about 500 OMR. For a 50-person office, a complete setup with terminal, software, installation and training is usually around 275 to 475 OMR in the first year, depending on the software. For 200 employees across 3 sites with payroll integration, the budget is usually around 1,400 to 1,600 OMR.
Yes. Since 5 February 2026, Oman's Personal Data Protection Law is fully enforceable, and biometric data needs a permit from MTCIT before you enrol employees. MTCIT has 45 days to process the application, so this should be handled early. We provide a compliance checklist and technical setup support with every installation.
Yes, with our custom software or the right paid brand licence. The system can use Ramadan profiles at 6 hours per day and calculate overtime at 1.25 times for daytime overtime, 1.5 times for night work between 9 PM and 5 AM, and 2 times for weekly rest days and public holidays. Free brand software usually does not handle all of this properly.
If all your devices are from one brand and you only need normal attendance reports, the brand software may be enough. If you mix brands, need WPS payroll export, Oman overtime and Ramadan rules, or a staff self-service portal with leave requests, our custom software is usually the better choice.
Face recognition works better for many Oman workplaces. Fingerprint can fail when hands are dusty, oily, wet or rough, which is common in factories, construction sites and kitchens. The price difference is often around 60 OMR per terminal, and most customers choose a terminal that supports both face and fingerprint.
Under the PDPL, their fingerprint and face templates should be deleted from both the terminal and the server, not only deactivated. We include this in the exit process when we configure the system.
Yes. The terminals store punches locally and sync when the connection returns. For sites with no internet, USB transfer can be used. With cloud software, the terminal keeps the data locally until the internet is back, so punches are not lost during an outage.
A single site with fewer than 100 employees usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. A multi-site system with payroll integration can take 3 to 6 weeks. We normally recommend running the new system beside your old method for one payroll cycle, so HR can check the reports before using them for salaries.
Yes. Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, Duqm, Nizwa, Sur, Barka, and other locations.
Tell us your headcount, number of sites and shift pattern. After the site survey, we will send a written proposal with terminal recommendations, software recommendation, integration scope and fixed pricing within 5 working days.
