ZKTeco F18 — Fingerprint Attendance and Door Access Terminal
The ZKTeco F18 is the most popular fingerprint terminal we sell in Oman, priced at 60 to 80 OMR. It does two jobs in one device: records staff attendance, and controls a door — it has a built-in lock relay, so the same fingerprint that marks an employee present also opens the office door. We supply it from stock in Muscat, install it, and support it anywhere in Oman.

One Device, Two Jobs
For attendance: staff press a finger, the F18 records the punch with the time, and the software turns punches into attendance reports, late marks and overtime hours. PIN entry is the fallback for the rare finger that will not enrol.
For door access: the F18 wires directly to a magnetic or electric strike lock through its built-in relay. A registered fingerprint opens the door; an exit button releases it from inside; the door sensor raises an alarm if the door is forced or held open. For larger access control systems, the Wiegand output connects the F18 to a central panel as a reader.
Most of our clients use both functions on the same unit: one device at the office door doing attendance and entry together. That is what makes the F18 the value choice — a separate attendance machine plus a door reader would cost double.
Where the F18 Fits — and Where It Does Not
The F18 is right for clean, air-conditioned indoor environments: offices, clinics, real estate firms, salons, training centres, small schools. It is the cheapest reliable way into biometric attendance.
It is the wrong choice for dusty or greasy-hands environments — factories, construction sites, kitchens. Fingerprint sensors fail when fingers are worn, oily or dusty, and we have replaced F18-class terminals in such sites with face recognition. If your staff work with their hands, spend the extra and buy a face terminal first — see our guide to biometric attendance systems in Oman for the comparison and prices.
Software — Free and Paid Options
The F18 works with ZKTeco's free desktop software for basic attendance reports, and with BioTime (free up to 2 devices and 2,000 users) for web-based attendance with shift management. For Oman labour-law overtime at 1.25x / 1.5x / 2x, Ramadan hours, WPS-ready payroll export and a staff self-service portal, it connects to our attendance software.
What Is in the Box and What Installation Includes
The unit ships with its power adapter, mounting plate and fittings. Our installation covers mounting, network connection, software setup, staff fingerprint enrolment and training for whoever runs the reports. If the door-access function is used, we wire the lock, exit button and door sensor in the same visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the ZKT F18 the same as the ZKTeco F18?
Yes — ZKT is just the short form of ZKTeco. Same device.
Can the F18 control a glass door with a magnetic lock?
Yes. The built-in relay drives a maglock or electric strike directly, with an exit button on the inside. We supply and wire the lock with the terminal.
How many employees can it handle?
3,000 fingerprint templates — far more than the small offices it is built for. For 100+ staff at one entrance, consider a face terminal instead, for queue speed rather than capacity.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. It stores punches in its own memory (100,000 records) and syncs when the network returns, or transfers by USB.
What is the difference between the F18 and the F22?
The F22 is the slimmer, newer design with similar capacity. We stock both — ask for current pricing on either.
